Mix & Match and Wear!

Thought we'd end the week with some wearable art!

Leaf necklace2
This mixed media necklace was created by our very own Colleen McGinty!

She has used raw canvas that she embellished with Art GRIP® Aquarelle pencils and Stamper's Big Brush.  Some sea glass colored beads add some sparkle!  Here's what you'll need to make this one of a kind necklace:

Mix & Match Textural Accents Gesso

Mix & Match PITT® artist pens Green

Mix & Match Art GRIP® Aquarelles Green

Stamper's Big Brush Pen Black

Raw canvas cut into leaf shapes with grommets

Green embroidery thread and needle

Necklace chain

Jump Rings

Small Scroll Stamp

To make the leaves, stitch raw canvas leaf shapes and attach grommets.  Gesso the leaf center, leaving the edges raw.  Color in with Art GRIP® Aquarelle pencils and blend as desired. Accent the leaf colors with the PITT® Artist Pens.  Stamp the scroll design using the Stamper's Big Brush pen and then sew on your button embellishments.

To assemble your necklace, attach beads to the chain using jump rings.  Use jump rings to secure your canvas leaves to the chain and you're all set to wear your handiwork!  Have a great weekend!  We'll be back on Tuesday with a new technique!

I love this! Colleen... that is gorgeous! I'm so inspired to make one in each color now! Thanks for this inspiration today!

Wow! This is stunning! Resisting the urge to run to the fabric store right now to pick up some canvas. I can't wait to give this a try!

This is awesome! I would never ever have considered using colored pencils for a jewelry project! I will definitely feature and link in a future post so others can come visit! Pearl
