12 Days of Christmas Inspirations, Day 3: Peace Joy Love - Mixed Media Canvas

12 Days of Christmas Inspirations, Day 2.:A birdhouse:.

 Hi there!
It´s Katarina here again, and today I´m going to share with you a cute little altered project I did last night.

This is such an easy project to do, the birdhouse made of veneer,  I found at a local flowershop, and all I did was to decoreate it and bling it up a bit.

As a first step I wanted to give the house a nice structure, so I added some Gesso from the Textural Accents sampler pack, and after that I used my Pitt Artist Pen® Big Brush  Warm Grey V274, (from the Mix & Match, Mixed Media sampler- Neutral) my inking tool, and a template to make a nice touch to the birdhouse surface.

After that, it was all about adding decorations and glitter.... and I love adding flowers to my altered projects, especially tiny roses and rosebuds, these rosebuds have a small brushstroke of Gelato™ Lavender on the edges. I love to curl the flower stems, and I usually curl them around my smallest  watercolour brush.

I also used some seambinding ribbon, and to get the colour I wanted, I mixed Gelato™ Metallic Mint, and Cotton candy.

I smeared some of the Gelatos™  on to a crafters sheet, and added some water before I smeared it all into my ribbon.

when the ribbon was dry all I had to do was to tie a cute bow onto the birdhouse.. and Tadaa.... all done :)
