Creativity for Kids and Design Memory Craft for Mother's Day with Mou

Hi everyone, Mou here cooking up some Mother's Day love with my kiddos with Faber Castell's Design Memory Craft and Creativity for Kids goodies :)

I have never done tie dye before, so everything in a kit helped me. My kids have done this before, so they guided me through the whole process and we had fun :) Let me share the experience with you in pictures!

We added water to the powder dye in the squirt bottles and mixed them up.

With rubber bands we created sections in the t-shirt.

And then we added the liquid dye to the tied off sections.

Once the t-shirts were dyed and dry, we decided to embellish them.

Using the stencil from the kit and some Stamper's Big Brush pens, my daughter drew a butterfly on a piece of canvas.

Then she used the needle and embroidery floss from the kit to add some stitched details to the butterfly.

Then she cut it out to use the butterfly as applique on the tie dyed shirt.

And here's the finished product. We have to secure the butterfly but you get the idea!

To make this T-shirt, we used

We have no big plans for Mother's day. Not close to family and so will just take it easy.

Your kids look great Mou, and so glad they could help you along! :)

It would be fabulous to do this with my kids, great kit!

Looks like the kids had fun! I have no plans for Mother's Day except I'm not making dinner! :)

How fun to something with the kids and them having to teach you how to do it. Looks like you all had great fun.

Fabulous kid project!!! Hoping that the rain holds off till later in the day, but Mother's Day here is about getting my veggies in the ground so I can "mother" my family with fresh from the garden goodies all summer long. Thank you for the chance to win!

Robin Buchholz

Thanks for sharing a fun kid project! My husband likes to surprise me with whatever my kids come up with so, I won't know until the day arrives.

I plan to relax and get some scrapbooking done. Maybe go craft and mixed media paints shopping! A part of the day at a spa would be nice but that's a pipe dream.

I used to love tie dye when I was a teen, would love to pass this on to the next generation.... my little granddaughters will have fun with this project

What a fun project! I am hoping to visit my mom and then see my kids and grandkids.

Renee VanEpps

What adorable pictures! And I'm so thrilled you did a tye-dye project because when my 5 year old daughter missed out on tye-dye day at her school, I promised her I would do it with her at home and forgot :( This is something we could do for mother's day together! Thanks much :)

Katy Drogos

This looks like so much fun! We are going to a Mother's Day tea at my church. (My mom-in-law and me-we go every year and it's so much fun!)

Fntastic project Mou! my 6 yo would be thrilled to help mommy create some "rainbow" shirts ;) this would be fun to create on MD, another opportunity to create great memories and tresurable crafts :)
Have a wonderful day!

We had Mother's Day early last weekend with my parents and sister. My sister has to stay at home with her new babies, a new mother, so we went to her. The twins are growing, I got to feed them and change there diapers. It was a fun day. This tye die kit looks really fun, it would be fun to do with the neighbors kids who I babysit every now and then. Thanks for sharing.

Hugs, Colleen

I will hopefully spend time with the grandkids and kids this project looks like a fun family project.

Looks like a lot of fun. I remember doing this is elementary school as a kid. I always enjoyed the results.

I will go to church in the morning and then just hang out with my family. Tie dye is always so much fun. You never know what it is going to look like until it is done. Thanks for the chance to win this kit.

Natasha Poteraj

That is so cute. I did tye dying in Girl Scouts. It was really fun!

Sharon Gullikson

I made a scarf with dye when I took a CHA class. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I would like to be able to decorate a t-shirt with my niece. She would love to get her hands into something like that. The 1970s look is popular with the jr high kids. Thanks for the chance to win some products for myself, too.

I have to work.
