Live Creatively Journal Page

DSC01037Jen Matott here with a journal page to share.  I used Faber- Castell Design Memory Craft's Square Journal board for this page.  It has the perfect surface for all the media that I love to use!  I colored with Gelatos first and used a bit of water with a brush to blend.  I did smear a bit with my fingers too... I like to get into my work!  The background colors are from the Gelatos 50's Diner Designers Colors set.

Mixed media winter girl

Hey sweet creatives how goes things?
Rita Barakat here and  I was finally able to carve a little creative time
into my schedule this weekend- OK not really, but I did it anyways!
The weather around here this week has been chilly (mornings in the 30's) so I was inspired
to make this mixed media winter girl painting. Of course today it was 87! But that's Texas!

She is one of four weather girls collection I have created.
Here are some pictures in progress...

Anything but Timid

BAPMarch_JenMatott1A scrapbook page about my little boy, who was once very timid around new people, makes for an adorable reminder of his youth.  I wanted a playful but pretty page to showcase this adorable photo.

Starting with kraft cardstock, I used an old hotel card to spread Textural Accents Gesso.  Once dry, I used Squid Ink colored Gelato from the 50's Diner set on a craft mat and picked up the color with the foam applicator that comes with the set.  I applied this through a dotted stencil to create grey dots.

A Friend Card

Hello, it's Stephanie here and today I have a non-holiday card to share with you. I think it's sometimes nice to take a break from all the holiday creating and just make something completely different.

I love using Gelatos® and Gesso over heat embossed backgrounds and I had a really great sentiment stamp that I have been wanting to use with a musical background, so I decided to make this card.

It looks a little complex, but I promise that it's super easy to create and you end up with an amazing multi coloured background. I love this technique! ;)
