StormPicFinalLisa

Hi crafty friends! It's Lisa with you today and I'm super excited to kick this week off with your first project here at the Design Memory Craft Blog. We've got a really awesome week planned for you, so I hope you'll be checking to see all of the DT's amazing work this week. :)

As you can see above I created something kind of interesting. It's a mixed media collage piece on a piece of wood using TONS of the Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® products and the gorgeous Unity Stamp called Harmony Girl. She's stunning.

Here are a few of my steps to creating this piece:

1:  Cover the wood piece with selected pieces of paper, creating your layout. Then cover the wood with Gel Medium and the paper with Gel Medium. Allow to dry.

StormPic1

2:  Create a mixture of Gesso and Chalkboard Paint and apply to surface of panel in random areas creating a look that is appealing and less "white".

StormPic2

3: Apply Chalkboard Paint to edges of wood panel and also allow paint to drip on random areas of surface.

4: Stamp image onto tissue paper using Stamper's Big Brush Pen in Black #199, cut out and apply to panel with Gel Medium.

StormPic3

5:  Using Art GRIP® Aquarelle Watercolor Pencils, Stamper's Big Brush Pens, and the Deluxe Waterbrush color in the image.

StormPic4

6: Shaving bits of the Paper Crafter Crayons™ off using a craft knife place around image and melt to panel front using a craft iron.

StormPic5

7: Stamp the sentiment using Stamper's Big Brush Pen in Black #199. Embellish with Washi Tape, sequins, and rub-ons. Use Glass Bead Glitter Gel on umbrella for added interest and texture. See close up below:

StormPic6

I love how easily this came together. (Don't let all the steps fool ya!) :)

Don’t forget to stop by the Unity Stamps blog for their post! The blog hop will be open until Sunday, September 21st (11PM EST). Happy hopping! :)

Hey everyone, Mou here with the winners of September 2014 Take the Challenge with Mou:

1. Chark  said... (posted on my blog due to typepad issues)

Hi, Mou, fun challenge! I hope you don't mind, but it won't take my link over at the Design Memory Craft blog either. I submitted it twice on different days...hmmm...here's hoping! http://glitterinmykitchen.blogspot.com/2014/09/were-off-to-see-wizard.html#comment-form

7:11 PM

2. This was wonderful challenge, Mou. Usually I don't keep time limit for my creativity, sometimes I finish in an hour or sometimes half done project laying on my table for a week. Yes, but I do like to stick to my commitment for DT projects. :) I finished my project for this challenge in 25 mins. Kept it simple, even though I tempted to add 'some more'. It was inspiration from your video here. Link to my project:http://nagaonkarshilpa.blogspot.in/2014/09/30-minutes-project.html

Chark and Shilpa, please get in touch with Naoko for your prizes. Email her [naoko@fabercastell.com] with September Take the Challenge winners on the subject line.
