New Stencils on Mixed Media Journal Board with Jen Matott

P1020128 copy

If you've seen our new packaging for the Mixed Media Stencils 101 Collection, you might recognize this piece.  I did the artwork for that package!  I used lots of media on this one!

Using a Mixed Media Square Journal board, I applied some lace and fabric tape to create a background texture.

P1020132Using the diamond Stencil, I put a layer of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft® Glass Bead Glitter Gel through and allowed it to dry.  The texture is so amazing!  There is a bit of sparkle to it too!

LuxeJenMatott2Using the dot stencil in the Mixed Media Stencil 101 Collection pack, I put Whipped Spackle through it with a palette knife.  Whipped Spackle holds it's shape like no other!

A stencil (circles) was put over the entire board and a Gelatos® mist of Iced Coffee from the Steampunk Collection was sprayed over it. To make Gelato mist, use the GelatosMist Maker kit. Once dry, I added anotherGelatos®Double Scoop mist in Gold Champagne with the arrow stencil.

Some Gelatos® Double Scoop in Black Licorice was watered down on a craft mat and flicked on the board with the brush that comes with the Gelatos Tool Kit. I love this droplet look on many of my art projects!

Finally, I colored a piece of muslin ribbon with Gelatos® in Iced Chai by coloring directly onto the ribbon and adding water to blend.

This was a fun journal board to create!  I love the mix of media and the muted metallic colors!  What could you make with our new Mixed Media Stencils?
