For this project, I used Graphic 45's ATC Box in Kraft and created a little steampunk art box.

JenMatottGraphic45 - 7

The lid is covered with paper from the Topography line in Journey.   I loved the dictionary text on this paper with the slightly aged appearance!  Right up my alley!

JenMatottGraphic45 - 23The butterfly was layered on the lid but it's actually a Gel Medium skin transfer!  Here's how you do it:

1. Coat your toner-based image (photocopy, laser print or magazine image) with a generous even layer of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gel Medium.  Brush in one direction.  Allow to dry completely. Then, layer on another generous layer going the opposite direction.  Repeat for the 3rd layer and allow to dry completely.

Once completely dry, you are going to spray water onto the back of the paper.  Allow to saturate and then slowly use your finger to rub the pulp off.

I tried to get as much pulp off as a could but it does leave a dull haze when dry so I added a layer of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Glaze to the image side.  Once dry, it gives it a nice soft sheen and hides the pulp fibers!

Using the Steampunk Gelatos colors, I colored on of the tags that comes in the box.  I used it as a layering piece.

JenMatottGraphic45 - 8

I layered the tag, over one end of the ribbon on the lid, then the cut out frame from the Gilded Lily Ephemera card pack and then the butterfly.  I cut a question mark from the Journey paper and layered the metal keyhole on top.  The keyhole was colored with Iced Coffee to match the Claw Feet.

JenMatottGraphic45 - 11

I used a Mixed Media Stencil in brick from the 10 ct. 101 Mixed Media Stencil pack
and some Whipped Spackle through the brick stencil.  I did this to all 3 sides.

JenMatottGraphic45 - 9

Adding Steampunk Gelatos® Colors with lots of water created this drip effect.

JenMatottGraphic45 - 15

Finally, I colored the inside of the lid with the same Steampunk set and stamped using a Stamper's Big Brush Pen in black and the Topography 1 stamp set.

JenMatottGraphic45 - 19

Inside the box is a pillow of velvet fabric and a nest with metal wings to complete the Steampunk feel.
