Take the Challenge with Mou, July 2015

Hi everyone, Mou here with the seventh Take the Challenge of 2015.

If you are new to this blog, let me fill you in about Take the Challenge. Every month, on the first Monday, I'll post a challenge and my take on it. You'll have 12 days to take this on. Leave a comment to the challenge post with a link to your creation based on that challenge. We will pick TWO winners from among the readers who participated in that month's challenge. And the winners will get a prize from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft®.
In July, let's take a color challenge. Create anything you like using mainly the color GREEN. Here's my art journal page.
On this project, I used:
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural Accents & Tools: Gesso, Gel MediumWhipped Spackle
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Mixed Media Stencils 201 collection: Keys
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos® Colors: Buttercream (YELLOW set), Green Tea, Lime (GREEN set), Metallic Mint, Metallic Blueberry (METALLIC set)
Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stamper's Big Brush pen: WARM GREY IV (NEUTRAL set)
Others: Sizzix Die Globe; die-cutting system; art journal, old book paper, stickers
And here are the steps.
With Gel Medium, attach some old book paper, stickers and diecut to your journal page.
Apply a coat of Gesso. Ink up a script stamp with Warm Grey IV Stamper's Big Brush pen. Stamp randomly on the background to create a layer.
Use Gelatos colors to add some green color to the background.
Add shadows with more Gelatos colors as well as Stamper's Big Brush pens.
Lay the house key stencil from the Stencils 201 set and apply Whipped Spackle with palette knife. Lift stencil and let the medium dry.
Cut out words from old book paper and attach with Gel Medium.
This time, you'll have an extra week to work on this challenge... that's right! It's summer and it's busy. So you get three weeks instead of two to work on this challenge.
Don't forget to share your challenge creations with us... just leave a comment to the challenge post with link to your project image(s) by Sunday, 7/26 and we will pick TWO winners randomly to win these.
The prize for this challenge is: One pack of Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stencils 101 Collection.
Don't forget to check back on Monday, 7/27 to see if YOU won!
Good luck to all!

Hi Mou! Love your page. The colors are gorgeous and I love all the layers in your collage. The key over the globe die cut adds so much texture. My page is so much simpler but the more I work with the gelatos and big brush pens the more I enjoy them. Here's my entry for the challenge.

Hi, nice to get back to my art journal with your challenge. My baby (6 weeks old) takes a lot of time but I am happy to find some time to create even in this situation ;)
Here is my page:

Fantastic tutorial - as always. And my small green art tag- made with Gelatos and your Gel medium over stencils- double stencils layers.

I was inspired to use my green Gelatos, again. Check out my ATC here...

Love your journal page Mou. You will laugh but my favorite part is how you turned that Sassafras into a cloud - so fun!! It looks great. The whole page has such a peaceful aura - love the color of green you used as well as all the pastel accents. j.

Here is a little green fun for the July challenge! I don't have the 101 stencils so just had to enter :) Thanks bunches. j

I love to recycle, but I also love to upcycle when I can. For the September 2015 challenge (upcycle something you already have), I recycled my medication packaging into a special thank you gift. I used these Faber Castell materials: Whipped spackle, gelatos (pastels, brights, and metallics), and texture gems. Thanks for the challenge and the opportunity, I really enjoyed it!
