Who doesn't love winning a prize? All you have to do is comment to be eligible to win! Well, on with the festivities! I made a mixed media collage canvas! This is the first of four canvas' I am making for a mixed media seasons series.  This piece is called Fall. I drew and painted all my pieces; I also used watercolor paper and adhered it on the canvas, let's take a look...

First I took my canvas and spread Pearl Texture Luxe and Whipped Spackle with a spatula. I love that one is completely matte while the other has that pearlescent shimmer to it; using them together gives a fun contrast! After the canvas was dry I drew some lines with Gelatos® colors in Mango & Banana.

3-IMG_0347
I used a spray mist bottle to add a little water to the canvas.

You can blend it a little with a paintbrush or your finger then tilt it and let it run naturally.

I drew and painted my girl with lots of Gelatos Colors and PITT artist pens. I used the  Xyron Mega Runner to adhere it to the painted canvas.

I decided it needed a little something so I drew and cut out some flowers  to decorate. (See first pic) The Xyron sticker maker really came in handy for this! After I added them I put little white dots with the tip of a sharp pencil. I have these yellows and oranges for Fall, I am using blue and white for Winter what colors should I use for Summer and spring?

Each day this week, we’ll post a new project on our blogs. Make sure you hop to both blogs and the Facebook page for more chances to win and more inspiration! I have another post on Friday for the second girl in this seasons series. Don't forget to leave a comment here and on the Xyron blog for a chance to win $50 in product from Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft!

For another chance to win, leave a comment on our Facebook page and the Xyron Facebook page! This blog hop will end at 12am EST on November 22nd. Winners will be announced on the companies’ blogs on November 23rd.

Such amazing ideas!!

Rita,

I love your girls, and I so appreciated that you had such a nice step by step of how you created this beautiful canvas. I know it sounds silly, but many times I try to create my girl on the canvas, and depending on how much texture I have, I have issues. My love the idea of creating the girl seperately and using the Xryon products to adhere her, as well as the flowers! Thanks for sharing and always inspiring.

Hugs,
Maureen
