Key to Your Own Happiness (Tropicals Mixed Media Kit) - with Lisa

G is for Grateful!

What are you going to make with the Mixed Media Set - 50's Diner that's now available at Barnes & Noble? How about a home decor piece for Thanksgiving? The colors are just perfect for Fall, there's plenty of fun tools in the kit and the fabulous Texture Luxe Silver to add texture with a great collection of stencils! Here's the project I made. .

Hi fellow bloggers, Mou here with today's Mixed Media Kit inspiration!

To make this project, you'll need:

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Mixed Media Kit - 50's Diner

and a few additional supplies

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Textural Accents: Gesso, Glaze

Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Stampers Big Brush pen: BLACK

Paper mache letter G

Paint brush

Here are the steps.

Rub Gelatos® on the letter. Blend colors with Glaze.

Lay stencil down on the top left corner of the letter. Apply Texture Luxe with palette knife. Repeat on the bottom right corner.

Ink up stamp with Stampers Big Brush Pen Black and stamp randomly on the letter.

Get some Gesso out on a palette. Dip the Dot Dabber into Gesso and use it like a stamp around the letter to add another layer of pattern.

Slice off small bits of Blood Orange and Metallic Melon Gelatos® colors using palette knife. Crush the pigments down and add them to one of the misting bottles from the kit. Fill up the bottle and shake to mix. Once the colors are mixed, spritz the letter with the mix. Let some colors drip down.

Slice off a little bit of Squid Ink Gelatos® colors using palette knife. Crush the pigment down and add it to the DRip Dropper from the kit. Fill up the dropper and shake to mix. Once the color is diluted, drip little drops here and there on the letter.

With Stampers Big Brush pen, write 'Grateful' along the left. To dress up the letter a bit more, color cardstock with Gelatos® colors from the set, cut out a couple of feather shapes with scissors and attach them to the letter with some twine. And there you have it, a home decor piece for Thanksgiving!
