Creating a Desk Calendar

Hello, friends!

Evgenia Kovtun here sending some inspiration your way. I love creating personalized desk calendars for my friends and myself! It's very easy and fast. And can be a last minute present for somebody. To create the background I used Stamper’s Big Brush Pens, Whipped Spackle and Gelatos®. I have prepared a photo tutorial for you.

As the first step I created a base for my calendar. You'll need a 6" by 10 1/2" piece of cardstock. Score it at 4", then 5", then 6", then at 10". You will also need to pieces of white cardstock to create the back ground. I made them 5 7/8" and 3 7/8" - just a little smaller than the base.

To create the background I used Stamper’s Big Brush Pen Light Blue and Stamper’s Big Brush Pen Violet. I applied color directly onto the stamps and stamped the background. India ink  is waterproof and archival so your images stay bright and vibrant.

Then I decided to add some texture. I mixed Whipped Spackle with Gelatos® Banana and applied it through the stencil.

Then I applied Gelatos® Kiwi with my finger.

Now it's time to adhere the background to the base and to decorate the calendar. The months are easily interchangable (just adhering them with small glue dots). The other side of the calendar can stay without embellishments or you can add a photo there. Wherever your imagination leads you!
