Make a St. Patrick's Day Card with Shamrock Flowers

Lucky Card Beauty Shot
It's almost  St. Patrick's Day! It's Laura Bray and I'm here to show you how to make this cute card. The best part? You don't have to go out and buy shamrock embellishments that you will only end up using once a year. I'm going to show you how to turn some white paper flower embellishments into four leaf clovers!

Card Close-Up

Turning paper flowers into shamrocks is super easy! First I colored my white flowers with a Spearmint Gelatos®. I simply rubbed the Gelatos® over the surface of the flower. To get color variation, I then rubbed the color into some of them with a blending wedge and then used a wet brush to dilute the color on others. Then I set the flowers aside to dry. Once they are dry, I snipped one of the petals off the flower embellishment (it was a five petal flower!) and then I had a four leaf clover. Lucky me!

Make Shamrock

To make a card using the shamrocks, I created some stripes with a Black Licorice Gelatos®, and then smoothed out the color with a wet brush. Once that was dry, I lettered the word "Lucky" into the middle of the card with a Pitt® Artist Pen and then added some additional detail with a May Green Pitt® Artist Pen. Then I glued some of my homemade shamrocks onto the card, adding stems with the Pitt® Artist Pen.
